Giacomo graduated from the University of Bologna and, following a period at the University of Pennsylvania, completed his Emergency and Critical Care training at the Royal Veterinary College, London. After working as a staff clinician with the University of Edinburgh, he started a research post with the UCL Bloomsbury Institute for Intensive Care Medicine and is completing his PhD on organ dysfunction in sepsis. His areas of particular interest include sepsis, kidney injury, haemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support including extracorporeal therapies. He is a specialist at Dick White Referrals. Giacomo is chair of the EVECCS scientific committee.
