Gina Parkes

Gina qualified as a veterinary nurse in Northern Ireland in 2008 and then gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing in small animals, before joining the RVC’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals in 2011 as the Senior Medicine Nurse. Gina won the BSAVA nurse abstract award in 2015 for complications associated with intravenous catheter placement, before becoming the Head Medicine Nurse at the hospital in 2016. In 2019 Gina gained a PgCert in Veterinary Education and in July completed her post graduate diploma. She joined the RVC VN school as a educator in medical nursing and currently teaches the CertAVN in Medical nursing as a teaching fellow. Gina currently leads a team of 24 medicine nurses and has a special interest in endocrine nursing and infectious disease cases.
