Jamie graduated from Liverpool Veterinary School in 2001, and came to the practice from Glasgow in 2008. In 2009 he achieved the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery, and in 2015 was awarded Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Surgery by the RCVS. He completed an MSc in Musculoskeletal Science at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore in 2019, and was made a Fellow of the RCVS in 2025, for Meritorious Contribution to Clinical Practice.      His areas of interest are joint surgery, management of osteoarthritis, and muscle/tendon injuries. Jamie is Chair of the IVC UK Referrals Clinical Board, a member of the clinical advisory panel of the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance, and the "X-pertise in OA" International Scientific Panel. He lectures both in the UK and abroad on musculoskeletal disease in dogs and cats, and has published scientific papers on surgery and physical therapy. Jamie has contributed to documents including neutering and chronic pain management guidelines in that time. He works full-time as a referral surgeon (becoming an Advanced Practitioner in 2015) and Clinical Director. His clinical interests are in osteoarthritis management and joint surgery. He also completed an MSc in musculoskeletal science at the RNOH Stanmore in 2019, and is also an invited member of the clinical advisory panels for the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance and the Xpertise in OA group, having spoken at events including the X-pertise international conferences and London vet show. He is very keen to advance teaching and clinical standards in the group
