Jay is a Veterinary Consultant working for Herd Health Consultancy (part of the Map of Ag group), with a particular interest and focus on mobility, hoof trimming and training. Jay worked in practice in both Somerset and Cheshire before undertaking a PhD aiming to establish a baseline of information regarding lameness in beef cattle. He’s also spent a short spell at Liverpool University, some work overseas and a few years at a UK bull stud, before joining the team at Herd Health Consultancy. He is an AHDB Mobility Mentor, BCVA Foot Health Trainer, RoMS instructor, qualified at Level 4 Professional Hoof Trimming standard and delivers various consultancy and training, either bespoke or via the Healthy Feet Programme, Lantra hoof trimming or RoMS courses, or the CHCSB SRUC Level 4 Professional Bovine Hoof Trimming course.
