After graduating from RVC (Royal Veterinary College) in 2018, Jess worked in first opinion practice for 18 months and then undertook a year long rotating internship at Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, Leahurst, University of Liverpool. Having developed a passion for undergraduate teaching she moved back to first opinion practice with an academic twist as equine ambulatory vet at RVC Equine. In 2022 Jess spent 5 months on sabbatical working as an equine reproduction vet with Dr Angus McKinnon and Dr Chelsie Burden at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Victoria, Australia. Upon return from the this an advanced reproduction programme was launched at RVC Equine. Jess holds the RCVS CertAVP (Equine Practice) and now provides both core and elective equine reproduction lectures and practical sessions to final year undergraduate students. Recently, Jess has published a case report relating to complications of late term pregnancy in Equine Veterinary Education and a clinical commentary relating to infertility investigation.
