John is a Specialist in small animal orthopaedics and spent 22 years in clinical academia, latterly as professor of small animal surgery at University of Liverpool, where his research focussed on osteoarthritis and comparative orthopaedics. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and 15 textbook chapters. John is now a director of ‘Movement Referrals: Independent Veterinary Specialists’ in the North West of England.
