As an RVC 2011 graduate, after several years in companion, exotic and wildlife practice, Jon then gained an MSc in Wild Animal Health and a PhD in Asian elephant immunology. Clearly enjoying the diversity of the veterinary profession, Jon joined the VMD in 2021 as a veterinary assessor for marketing authorisation and clinical trial applications. He is also involved in the VMD’s pharmaceuticals in the environment (PiE) work and still undertakes part-time companion animal first-opinion practice. Jon has recently become the VMD’s Veterinary Engagement Lead, seeking to re-frame the organisation’s relationship with veterinary professionals.
