Dr Jorge Martin-Almagro is the UK Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) for international affairs and Deputy Director for the Global Animal Health and UK SPS Assurance Office. Jorge works closely with Professor Christine Middlemiss, the UKCVO, and with her counterpart Ele Brown, the DCVO focused on national animal health and welfare issues. He was appointed in 2023. As DCVO, Jorge supports Christine to provide veterinary advice on biosecurity for International Trade. Jorge’s portfolio connects to the UK's agenda of economic growth, facilitating trade in a complex environment leading the risk analysis for safe imports and expanding access for exports to foreign markets.
