Justine graduated from the Dick Vet in 2007 and initially worked in mixed practice. Following a Liphook Equine Hospital internship she returned to Edinburgh to complete an ECVS surgical residency, gaining a Research Masters and Surgery Diploma. From 2015 to 2020 Justine was a lecturer in equine surgery at University of Liverpool. Working in the equine soft tissue surgery department, she also ran the referral dentistry and head CT imaging services. She then worked as Technical Director at The American Fondouk, a non-profit hospital providing care for working equids in Fez, Morocco. This involved staff-training and expanding the hospitals surgical capacity. Justine joined the Sussex Equine Hospital surgical team in January 2022 and provides an advanced dentistry service. She is most passionate about ‘head cases’…and mules! She continues teaching post-graduate certificate modules in surgery and dentistry with University of Liverpool.
