Karen spent time in general and emergency small animal practice and completed an internship at Liverpool University before starting a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the RVC. She stayed on at the RVC after this and gained her American and European diplomas in Emergency and Critical Care. She is now an Associate Professor in Transfusion Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care
