Equine Internal Medicine Clinician, Langford Vets Equine Referral Hospital, University of Bristol
Katya graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and spent a year volunteering for an equine charity (SPANA) in Morocco. She subsequently returned to the Royal Veterinary College Equine Referral Hospital where she completed an internship and sparked her interests and passion for equine internal medicine, especially cardiology. She then worked as an ambulatory vet in Essex and Somerset before returning to the Royal Veterinary College as a resident in equine medicine. Whilst at the Royal Veterinary College, she undertook research into the relationship between steroid treatment and the development of laminitis, and the identification of blood markers to identify laminitis predisposition. Katya is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and works as an equine internal medicine specialist. She joined the Langford Vets Equine Referral Hospital in September 2017. Katya is interested in all aspects of equine medicine but particularly cardiology and the treatment of atrial fibrillation in horses.
