Lauren Valentine
Zoo/Wildlife Veterinary Nurse,
Marwell Wildlife
Lauren has had a huge interest in wildlife and since qualifying, she has always tried to better her knowledge of wildlife traige, health and rehabilitation within the practice environment. Having worked in almost every sector of the profession Lauren has firmly placed herself in wildlife, zoo and conservation medicine. To further her wildlife knowledge and skill set in this field, Lauren completed a Wildlife Biology BSc in 2022. She subsequently spent one year working exclusively with sea turtles for the Olive Ridley Project as their first nurse and championed the role of nurses in conservation medicine and nurses overseas. Here she was able to put to use her skills she learnt during her degree while she undertook many "biologist" roles, such as turtle ID collection, nesting data collection and database management. Since her return, Lauren has started working for Marwell Wildlife and WWT. She is a BDMLR Marine Mammel Medic and a member of the BWRC's veterinary working group.
