Mandy Nevel

Mandy Nevel is Head of Animal Health and Welfare at AHDB, leading evidence-based support across the dairy, pork, and beef and lamb sectors. She holds a BSc in Animal Physiology and Nutrition and a veterinary degree from the RVC, alongside a PhD in sow reproductive physiology and post-doctoral research in Canada. Her career includes farm practice, vaccine development with Pfizer, and academic roles at the RVC, where she led postgraduate programmes, including a One Health MSc. Mandy focuses on animal disease, food safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and welfare. She is Honorary Secretary of the Pig Veterinary Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.
