Nicola graduated from University College Dublin in 2012. Since graduating she has worked predominantly with performance horses in Ireland, Australia, the U.K. and Belgium with a focus on surgery, sports medicine, and diagnostic imaging. She completed a three year Senior Clinical Training Scholarship in Equine Surgery and Masters of Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College and gained Diplomate status with the European College of Veterinary Surgery in 2021. She was team vet for the Japanese Eventing Team at Tokyo 2020. She is currently working as a surgeon at a large referral hospital in Belgium. Her main interests are orthopaedic surgery, upper airways disorders, and laryngeal re-innervation.
