I graduated in the previous century, and completed post grad training at Dublin and Glasgow Universities, remaining at the latter as head of the medicine service. I then left the isolated ivory towers of Academia for the big bad world of private referral practice, working at Dick White Referrals prior to starting a medicine service at Wear Referrals and then an entire hospital with 3 other partners at Swift Referrals where I remain to this day as Clinical Director.
