Dr Rosie Allister has received the British Veterinary Association Chiron Award, the RCVS Impact Award, and honorary life membership of the BSAVA for work on veterinary mental health. Rosie manages Vetlife Helpline, a 24-hour support service for everyone in the UK veterinary community. Her research, based at the University of Edinburgh, looks at veterinary mental health, suicide prevention and support after suicide. She advises in the UK and internationally and was a member of the academic advisory group for Scottish Government strategy for suicide prevention and self harm. She has volunteered with Samaritans for 20 years and is a trustee of Samaritans in the UK and Ireland.
