Ruth Serlin is a veterinary surgeon with more than 35 years in practice, academia and training. Ruth first met Jade and Sam in 2016 and supported the formation of StreetVet as a charity, stepping back when her life became too busy, but has now started as a volunteer in Gloucester. She has a particular interest in contextualised care; recognising the realities of people’s lives and the pressures they face, the different influences and people involved in decisions made in practice, shaping veterinary care that is both compassionate and practical. Her work is driven by a commitment to supporting those who are most vulnerable, whether animals, clients, or the professionals who care for them. She now creates space for individuals and veterinary teams to build on their personal strengths and overcome communication challenges through mentoring and training.
