Scott graduated from Edinburgh Veterinary School in 2007. Initially, he commenced his career at the PDSA, before securing a Senior Veterinary Surgeon position with Vets Now in Edinburgh in 2010. Subsequently, in 2012, Scott embarked on his residency in internal medicine at the University of Edinburgh, following a year as a Teaching Fellow in Anatomy and Physiology. His residency culminated in 2016, concurrent with the completion of his Masters focusing on the pathogenesis of canine liver disease. Since then, he has been actively engaged in referral practice. Furthermore, Scott has spearheaded the development and delivery of a Post-graduate Certificate in Small Animal Emergency Medicine in collaboration with the University of Chester. In 2019, Scott, alongside Liz Bode and Andy Bell, established The Veterinary Thought Exchange (vtx) and its associated platforms, facilitating online veterinary CPD learning in various user-friendly formats. Scott's dedication extends to highlighting the remarkable individuals within the veterinary profession through discussions on the vtx podcast. His outstanding contributions to clinical practice were acknowledged in 2023 with the prestigious award of Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS).
