Dr Simon Cork is a physiologist and medical educator at Anglia Ruskin University Medical School. His research focuses on the physiology of appetite and body weight regulation, with particular expertise in gut hormones including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). His research explores the mechanisms through which anti-obesity medications exert their effects and the wider physiological regulation of metabolism and energy balance. A sought-after science communicator and commentator on obesity and metabolic health, he has appeared across a wide range of national and international media, including the BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian and Channel 4, and has featured in several television documentaries.
