Tahiyya graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 2014. After completing a rotating internship in equine medicine and surgery at the Onderstepoort Equine Clinic, she began an ECEIM residency in 2016. Following an interruption, she resumed and completed her residency through the Royal Veterinary College in June 2026. She also gained 2 years of private equine practice experience in Johannesburg before immigrating to the UK to become Head Equine Veterinarian at Galley Hill Equine Surgery. She holds an MSc in Public Health and has a particular clinical and research interest in equine liver disease.
