Resources to Educate the Profession
At the London Vet Show, we’ve always aimed to use our event platform to educate the veterinary profession on all topics. Our team were deeply moved by the events in the United States and protests here in the United Kingdom for social justice. We stand together with all members of the BAME community, the British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society (BVEDS) and we support the Black Lives Matter movement. We encourage all members of the veterinary community to support BVEDS and their activities. We know there is still a long way to go in the veterinary profession and beyond but we will endeavour to continue to make positive changes.
On the 2nd June, British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society (BVEDS) issued the following statement:
“The British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society (BVEDS) aims to promote, support and educate on issues of race and ethnicity in the veterinary sector. We oppose all forms of prejudice and discrimination by working to create an inclusive profession for all.
We call on all our colleagues to stand shoulder to shoulder with those most affected by injustice. BVEDS is willing to work with all people seeking to make a change towards a more inclusive profession. Join us now.”
