Wellbeing Zone

Take a break throughout your time at the London Vet Show to energise and elevate your mood, we are delighted to invite you to chill out in the Wellbeing Room.

It’s not just for avid yogis and fitness fanatics. The Wellbeing Zone is designed to give you a space at the London Vet Show, and equip you with essential tools and easy wins to improve your clinical performance and boost the wellbeing of your team.

Join us for a rejuvenating wellness program designed specifically for veterinary professionals seeking balance and self-care amidst the hustle and bustle of their demanding roles. There are several, 15-minute yoga and breathwork sessions throughout both days, run by Chloe Hannigan (aka VetYogi) and her team.

We ask kindly that the Wellbeing Zone remains tech-free and encourage delegates to talk to each other instead. So, leave your phones in your pocket and enjoy a rest-bite between lectures!

This year the VetYogi programme offers new and exciting sessions, including our tailored yoga and meditation taster classes that are designed with veterinary professionals in mind.

VetYogi also offers a selection of yoga props, clothing and accessories, and VY home fragrance gifts, all designed to help busy working professionals create a sanctuary of calm in their own space, our full range is available at The London Vet Show.

Chloe and Lindsay

Meet the Team

Dr. Chloe Hannigan BVetMed MRCVS, Founder and Director, VetYogi

Chloe HeadshotChloe qualified as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2012, and has worked in mixed and small animal practice in the UK, Australia, and NZ. She is currently a small animal locum, and loves the variety, teamwork, and surgical opportunities which her job brings, while acknowledging that sometimes veterinary medicine can be a very challenging profession to be a part of.

Having practiced yoga and meditation on and off for many years, she realised just how beneficial these practices were for helping with the management of work-related stress, easing the tension and aches that come from doing a physically and emotionally demanding job, and generally feeling more positive both professionally and personally.

Wanting to share these practices in realistic and evidence-based ways, she qualified as a yoga teacher in Bali and founded VetYogi in 2017, and encouraged by the response of the veterinary community, completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training in India in February 2020. She has since gained further yoga teaching and mental health qualifications, is registered as a Yoga Alliance Professionals teacher, and teaches a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Nidra, as well as Meditation/Pranayama. She is a proud member of the profession, and passionate about improving veterinary mental health and wellbeing by bridging the scientific and spiritual realms.

Lindsey Raven Emrich RVN

Lindsay PhotoLinds is a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher, with many years of experience in both the veterinary and yoga worlds. She currently works part-time in practice alongside teaching, involvement with a variety of eco initiatives, and family life. Linds qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2015 and has been teaching yoga since 2013. Her veterinary colleagues thought she was crazy when she took on the 3 year course alongside working as a full time veterinary nurse!

As a busy working Mum she knows just how hard it can be to find time to practice self-care, so in alignment with the VetYogi ethos she delivers her teaching in ways that are supportive and achievable for all! She primarily teaches Hatha yoga, along with meditation and breath work, and enjoys making yoga accessible for everyone. Her focus is enabling her students to better understand their own bodies, and appreciate what is “normal” for them. Linds shares the VetYogi mission to encourage all veterinary colleagues to embrace yoga for better holistic health, and joined the team as a VY Associate Yoga Teacher in 2021.

Sarah Loker - VY Associate Yoga Teacher

Sarah Loker

Steph hails from a small town in NSW, Australia, and attained her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2011 from TAFE Illawarra. She has worked as a vet nurse/receptionist for over 10 years in a couple of mixed animal practices (working alongside VetYogi Founder, Chloe, in both!), before making the jump from animals to humans. Steph recently completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree, now working as a Registered Nurse and Yoga Teacher, with the occasional shift at the vets!

Last year, she travelled to Bali to pursue a long-term goal of becoming a yoga teacher, completing her 200-hour Yoga & Meditation certification. She has been practising yoga since a teenager, and is now able to incorporate yoga into her nursing career. She is passionate about mental health, holistic care and lifelong learning. Even though she has swapped nursing animals for people, her ultimate goal is to one day be a full-time dog and cat mum!

Steph primarily teaches Vinyasa yoga, Meditation/Pranayama, and some Restorative yoga. She will achieve her yoga qualification for trauma, anxiety, depression and eating disorders later in 2024. Steph aims to connect people to the body through science and evidence-based practice, and joined the team as a VY Associate Yoga Teacher in early 2024.
